I started getting these after I upgraded to perl 5.10.  Are you running perl 5.10?  I suspect there is a problem with the way Weather_Common.pm is exporting its functions.  Is Matt Williams out there?

I'll take a look this weekend.  I'm running 5.8.8 so it is quite possible that
something I did in Weather_Common isn't 5.10 compatible.

CM15A Working! Advice re: insmod and RR501??

MisterRob
In reply to this post by Noah Swint-3
After a lot of Googling (and a lot of learning!), I got cm15a working great in MH. Seems that most of the info is really scattered about and not really apparent what the newest discussion/instructions are. In the end, it looks like Neil just keeps the most current version available at the same link.

I used Neil Cherry's driver (version 3) and installation instructions found at http://www.linuxha.com/USB/. I used John Gillis' patches found in this thread: http://www.nabble.com/CM15A.pm-td13619641.html. Note that Neil posted a link to another driver in that thread but I was unable to get that one to make. John provided pre-patched files in his post and after checking the versions of the files I had installed, I found that only bin/mh needed to be patched so I just used the other files from his link to replace mine. There are also a few points about the required mh.private.ini entries needed, I compiled them at the bottom of this message. Use John's CM15A.pm, it looks like it's the newest one.

Every time I rebooted, I had to run the "insmod cm15a.ko" command again, and "chmod 666 /dev/cm15a0". For lack of a better understanding of linux, I just wrote a startup script to do this. The permissions were still not being set so I thought maybe it was a case of the driver not being installed yet by the time the chmod command came around. I then just wrote another startup script with a higher start number (but a lower start number than mh). That worked, but mh is still dying with "CM15A power fail detected". The insmod is S10, chmod is S15 and mh is S20. This is becoming a real kluge! Is there a better way of doing this??

I see mention in John Gillis' post that he is receiving at least some RF commands.. I can't see anything in the logs, has anyone gotten signals using the cm15 antenna, or a RR501 into MH?

Relevant system specs: Asus Eee Box B202, Ubuntu 8.10 (kernel 2.6.27-11), ActiveHome Pro CM15A.

mh.private.ini additions:
cm15a_port=/dev/cm15a0
cm15a_device=/dev/cm15a0
x10_interface=cm15a

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have also gotten this to work. Now what I am seeing some funny things
in my logs that don't quite jive with the driver, and on/off events that
aren't MH generated. I have two remotes for the lights I am testing, and
when the remotes are used, the cm15a sees it (yay?) but complains of
garbled data (hrrm). I am still testing all these things right now, so
it is slow go on my part, but I don't have enough exp with device level
debugging to be more than a beta tester =-\

This zone is set up as house code B. I am using a Transceiver Module
(TM7510) which sits at B1, and two appliance modules that site at b2 and
b3 respectively. I also have a firecracker (CM17) on the system and may
remove that for more testing.

Currently this is what MH is reporting from my setup:

Sorry, I totally forgot about this until now.  I can not find any obvious
reason why Weather_Common exports aren't happening properly in 5.10.  Try the
following to see if it helps.

add "use Weather_Common;" to &setup in mh/bin/mh, around line 598.
