IA7 Help

Craig Lindholm
Recently, I upgraded to the latest MH, and now some, most of my modes are not working from IA7. They work from ia5 though.

For example: I have a mode for whether my dog is home or not:
$Goldie = new Generic_Item;
$Goldie ->set_states('home', 'away');

in ia5 AND ia7, if I navigate to "Home / Mr. House Home / Browse Items / Generic_Item" I get a nice button that states "Goldie home".

However, If I go to 'Home / Control Modes", I get a button that states:
"Goldie Loading..."

It used to work fine. my modes.shtml file has:

<div class="col-sm-4"><div style="vertical-align:middle">
<button entity='Goldie' class='btn btn-default btn-lg btn-list btn-popover btn-block btn-state-cmd navbutton-padding'>Goldie's<br><span class='pull-right'>loading...</span></button>
</div></div>

Any idea how to approach this?

Craig

That looks correct, if you use Chrome, then open up the developer tools, select the console and reload the page. See if any errors are reported.

Cool! I never noticed that area before.
It returns:

javascript.js:975 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'direct_control' of undefined
    at HTMLButtonElement.<anonymous> (javascript.js:975)
    at Function.each (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3)
    at init.each (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3)
    at Object.success (javascript.js:962)
    at c (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3)
    at k (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:5)
    at XMLHttpRequest.r (jquery.1.10.2.min.js:5)
(anonymous) @ javascript.js:975
each             @ jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3
each             @ jquery.1.10.2.min.js:3

k                  @ jquery.1.10.2.min.js:5
r                   @ jquery.1.10.2.min.js:5

But I don't know what any of it means. I do use direct control in my ia7_config.json as:
"Indoor_Xmas" : {
"direct_control" : "yes"
},

but those are for lights and appliances, not modes

When did you last upgrade? This should be fixed in the latest version of master.

Re: IA7 Help

That issue should be fixed in v1.3.601 with this commit. https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/commit/efea5a0534c3ec52cc23434b9fc136610c70ed6e

What IA7 version do you see in ‘About Mr.House’?

No down at the bottom underneath the github button. The latest master should read:

Weird, Line 975 was fixed in v1.3.601,

  What does your line 975 in javascript.js read:

if (json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control !== undefined && json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control == "yes") $('button[entity="'+entity+'"]').addClass("btn-direct);

or

if (json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity] !== undefined &&
json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control !== undefined &&
json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control == "yes") $('button[entity="'+entity+'"]').addClass("btn-direct");

Re: IA7 Help

No problem. Just including the list back so that this might help others if they have a similar issue. Good to know that clearing the browser cache should be one of the steps in the upgrade process.

Maybe in the future that IA7 version should be populated by the javascript. Right now it’s just a line in a static file that gets changed along with the commit.

FIXED IT!

I had to clear the chrome cache under settings, and then it worked!

Sorry for all the trouble, but I couldn't have figured it out without you.

It seems great, and so far, faster!

Thanks again

Weird, Line 975 was fixed in v1.3.601,

  What does your line 975 in javascript.js read:

if (json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control !== undefined && json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control == "yes") $('button[entity="'+entity+'"]').addClass("btn-direct);

or

if (json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity] !== undefined &&
json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control !== undefined &&
json_store.ia7_config.objects[entity].direct_control == "yes") $('button[entity="'+entity+'"]').addClass("btn-direct");

No down at the bottom underneath the github button. The latest master should read:

That issue should be fixed in v1.3.601 with this commit. https://github.com/hollie/misterhouse/commit/efea5a0534c3ec52cc23434b9fc136610c70ed6e

What IA7 version do you see in ‘About Mr.House’?

Actually, just today (from master), but I upgraded a month or two ago and that's when the issues started.

When did you last upgrade? This should be fixed in the latest version of master.

Cool! I never noticed that area before.

But I don't know what any of it means. I do use direct control in my ia7_config.json as:
"Indoor_Xmas" : {
"direct_control" : "yes"
},

but those are for lights and appliances, not modes

That looks correct, if you use Chrome, then open up the developer tools, select the console and reload the page. See if any errors are reported.
