How can I tell if my PLM is working

Richard Zimmerman-2
I upgraded my PC, my Ubuntu release and upgraded to v4.1 of MrHouse, and now things don't seem to work properly.  Actually everything seems to run, but when I try to control any Insteon things I don't get any action.  Is there a way to verify that my PLM is actually working and try to narrow things down.  I turned insteon:4 on, but it doesn't give me a whole log.

For example, here's a snippet of my log:
 - initializing state tracker ...
28/05/2016 06:25:10  [Insteon_PLM] serial:/dev/ttyUSB0:19200
 - creating Insteon PLM port on /dev/ttyUSB0
 - process id 29506 written to ./../../local/data/mh.pid
 - external command file (xcmd_file): ./../house_cmd.txt
 - HTML file     : ./../web/ia5/index.shtml

Warning:  password_file ./../../local/data/.password not found.  Run mh/bin/set_password
